Word....

There is no question that Putin is no liberal democrat, and Russia is ranked low in press freedom, but it’s easy to forget that Russia has never been a liberal democracy. From that vantage point, with multiple functioning opposition parties, media, and street protests under Putin, he is almost without doubt (this is hard for chup-level Russia haters to swallow) at least in relative terms the most liberal political leader in Russian history. And despite his general stupidity about most matters, Trump seems to understand that it’s in the interest of the United States to work with Putin, a position seen by others as threatening to the national security state and the war machine.

We agree on a lot of things, but jesus fucking christ, how can you overlook a man who is changing law so he can be ruler until he dies?

You can't like Sanders and Putin.  The cognitive dissonance required requires the power of a fucking black hole.

Didn't say I liked Putin per se, just liked that he was a impediment to amerikkkan hegemony.

Russiaphopes are fools. Don't be a tool of the masters of war.

I'll stick with American hegemony over a Russia/China combination.

Sorry bud, but you are the fool.  It has nothing to do with Russian history which I doubt you know much about anyway, you are the fool because you take Putin at his word and assume that he is telling the truth when he blames the West for everything because you hate the West.  Sure, I guess he is more liberal than Stalin, but he is a calculated menace to world order and doesn't even care about Russian well being never mind any kind of global interest.  I have no idea what you think would happen in the power vacuum if the American hegemony collapsed.  I doubt you have given it any thought because you think like a looter.  Smash it, burn it, and other people will fix it.  Russia and China are not the socialists you think they are.

All these Counterpunch articles are the same.

The Counterpunch format

1 - Take news from the MSM about bad things happening in BLANK and then immediately denounce the source because it is from the MSM and it must be all lies
2 - Find something similar that America did in the past (from old MSM journalists ironically) that was similar and run with that for a page and a half and far-left catchphrases.
3 - Make stuff up that sounds plausible to their flock.
4 - Conclude that it is all bullshit based on what the CIA was up to in 1965 without making at attempt at journalism by actually looking into what happened in BLANK.
5  - Rinse and Repeat without ever having to get off their asses and do any real reporting

Putin is a pimp - a mafia don.  He does what it takes to be the enforcer and protector of his oligarch partners, regardless of the effect it has on his people or the world.

I know more than you think. I don't have to take Putin at his word because the psychotic yanke scum -more or less- prove the veracity of his statements.

Russia and China are not the socialists you think they are.

Don't try and put words in my mouth sunny jism. I have no such thoughts. Russia is an autocracy and China totalitarian by committee.

Shoot the messenger. You're brain dead. And a warmonger.

LOL.  One thing I will say.  You read so much CP that you are really mastering the art of writing words without saying anything.  Maybe they are hiring.

So you don't mind a Chinese hegemony?  What makes that better than an American or Western hegemony?

I am completely serious.  If America (Western) control is reduced in an area, China will quickly fill that void.  Russia will as well where they can, but they are not nearly as capable so for Russia, it is all about the part of the world that used to be their empire (look out Finland).

If you want errantly apply a "phobia" to me, at least make it for China.  I am not really worried about Russia.  They are more of a global pest, but China has big plans for the country and for the Chinese people which is why purging the country of Uighurs and Tibetans is so important to them.  But when has a country obsessed with global domination and racial purity ever been a problem before right?  /s

China doesn't like Japan.  Or South Korea.  Just look at the China sea claims and the islands they are building.

If teh amerikkkans abandoned violence and economic coercion and instead instituted a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Neighbor_policy maybe there wouldn't be a void to fill?
