5 second survey is the best kind of survey. Done

awesome! Nice. Signatures bumped from less than a hundred yesterday to more than 700 today!

We need your help to show the demand for a safe, convenient, comfortable, and accessible route for all individuals connected to existing active transportation routes, thus encouraging people to use active transportation.

Althought I thought about it after signing... Who the hell would want to ride next to hwy 1 idling away with stinky car fumes? I hate riding the Stanley Park Causeway or the IWM bridge for the same reason. I'm a touched worried that this would take funding away from much nicer places to put a bike route in the same area, but I support Hub in all they do.

Has anyone ridden the 202nd St to 216th St section, completed in 2020? Hopefully I'm wrong!  *(I don't actually see bikelanes built next to the hwy)

It's not a reason to not add your name and show the demand though.

Done.

Draft Strategy looks good, plenty of mention of trail variety.

An acknowledgement in there that many rogue trails are due to people seeking diversity not in the managed network.

"-Unauthorized trail building as users seek trail diversity and experiences not provided within the existing maintained trail network."

I've not ridden alongside the highway out that area but there's nice quiet roads and dike/gravel trails nearer the Fraser which work for me as a leisure cyclists but are probably too out of the way for utility cycling.

There's a lot of dead end roads in to that area as well, which makes for longer than necessary detours so it would be good to punch thru a few strategic dead end roads and make them thru routes for bikes/pedestrians/horses but I'd imagine there will be pushback from Nimbys.

Also, I just looked more closely at the map and realized the intended route work stops at the Veddar Canal bridge which is very unfortunate. It would be super useful if there was a way to get across the canal without a long diversion down to the Keith Wilson Road bridge...

Bump as there are only a few days left to add your input to the DNV's Natural Areas Trails Strategy.

That seems to be the most vague survey I've ever seen but I completed it anyway. Can't figure out the real purpose

Main St bike lane "gap" being actively plugged. Personally, I can't say I like riding that section of road but $1.5million and four months work....

Another local DNV cycle infrastructure survey, this time about Main Street (section between Cove/Wyldeye and MEC) which isn't particularly pleasant to ride along...

https://www.dnv.org/streets-transportation/main-street-cycling-improvements

Only two years from the survey till the NS News article says something's being done about the paint lines. Almost a record!

Paint is not safe infrastructure. I hope they're following the excellent example on the south side across from Park and Tilford, and not what's infront of Wildeye!

260 respondents to the survey.  That's dismal.   This is why we can't have nicer things.

Who loves pedalling Ironworkers to Seymour along Mt Seymour Parkway?  Not I.

https://www.dnv.org/streets-transportation/spirit-trail-eastern-extension

The exact routing for most segments of the Spirit Trail Eastern Extension has not yet been determined. Join us at one of our upcoming drop-in info sessions to share your thoughts.

Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 6pm – 8pm at Sherwood Park Elementary, 4085 Dollar Road

Wednesday, March 6, 2024, 6pm – 8pm at Maplewood Farm, 405 Seymour River Place

There will be information boards, an interactive activity to gather your ideas, and staff available to answer questions. During these sessions, we will also illustrate the different forms the trails may take and share additional details about the planned approach for the Seymour River to Windridge Park trail segment, the first segment on our schedule.

Burnaby would like to know if paint lines count as infrastucture, or if you prefer to be safely separated from traffic.

I truly love the progress metrovan continues to make, lets keep up the support - the <5 minute survey is here:

That's definitely a <1 min survey. ;)

Got a specific comment want to post up for a copy and paste for the survey? Or just, "physical barriers please, not painted lines" good enough?

I don't believe in the effectiveness of copy/paste comments, nor form letter emails burying city staff’s inboxes.

I thanked them for recognizing that paint isn't infrastructure, also included this video.

Thanks for providing your own input!
