Have you checked out the [Kids Ride Shotgun saddle system](https://nsmb.com/articles/kids-ride-shotgun-saddle-system/)? Normally I hate spending other peoples' money but frankly it's the **_one_** mountain bike product I truly wish I'd discovered sooner. We got very few rides on it before my grom was too big but they were all amazing.
